Graduate Receives MU Dissertation Discipline Award in Biological and Life Sciences
Jennifer Hulett, PhD, APRN, FNP-BC, a 2015 graduate of the Sinclair School of Nursing’s PhD program, was honored at the the Graduate Awards Banquet Wednesday, April 27, 2016. Dr. Hulett received the MU Dissertation Discipline Award in Biological and Life Sciences for her dissertation research entitled “Impact of Religious and Spiritual Beliefs on Neuroendocrine Function and Health Outcomes in Breast Cancer Survivors.” Her dissertation research involved exploration of relationships between and among spirituality, stress and neuroimmune biomarkers in breast cancer survivorship outcomes, an increasingly ‘hot topic’ in the field of psychoneuroimmunology (PNI). Donors Kickstart New Building Fundraising Efforts
University of Missouri officials announced two gifts to the MU Sinclair School of Nursing (SSON) totaling $3 million to support the construction costs of a new academic building for the SSON. Michael and Millie Brown have given $2 million to support the new building. April 19, 2016 University of Missouri Sinclair School of Nursing DNP graduate Shelby Thomas, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, CLNC, found herself with a ribbon at the 40th Annual Research Conference of the Midwest Nursing Research Society (MNRS). The conference was held in Milwaukee, WI, during the week of March 17-20. Each year, nursing schools around the Midwest take part in the conference. Local PhD Program Graduate Accepts Position in Utah
Aug. 11, 2015 Dr. Jennifer Hulett, a May 2015 PhD graduate of the MU Sinclair School of Nursing, has accepted a post-doctoral fellowship from the University of Utah, College of Nursing. Dr. Hulett will be supported by an NIH funded Institutional Training Grant (T32) awarded to the University of Utah College of Nursing entitled “Interdisciplinary Training in Cancer, Aging, and End-of-Life Care.” Jennifer was one of 190 total students who graduated May 2015. There were 53 traditional BSN, 47 accelerated, 38 RN-BSN, 28 MS and 23 DNP. Dr. Hulett was the only graduate from the PhD program. Congratulations to Jennifer…

Student Program Teaches Preschoolers the Importance of Washing Their Hands
Nov. 7, 2014 A group of University of Missouri Sinclair School of Nursing students found themselves putting on a clinic inside a classroom. It was the first event ever for the program, Sharing Health Hand by Hand. Nursing students were teaching proper hand hygiene to a class of preschool students with developmental needs. Program leaders say the children took to it even better than they thought they would.
