donate today
Donate today to the MU Sinclair School of Nursing and help make a difference in the lives of our nation’s future nurses.
Your giving and donations matter. Thanks to your support, we have remodeled auditoriums, purchased new technology for our students, offered innovative programming and provided scholarships that attract students and retain top-notch faculty.
We truly wouldn’t be where we are today without your contributions.
Despite these huge strides, there are still areas of need and causes to support. Take some time to read about the school’s greatest needs and learn how you can leave a lasting legacy at Mizzou.
Student & Technology Support
We’re proud to offer students a multitude of scholarship funds to provide financial stability during their education at MU Sinclair School of Nursing.
Building Fund
The existing building for the Sinclair School of Nursing will be demolished the spring of 2020 to be replaced by a new building in the same location. The new building, estimated to cost $30 million, will feature approximately 64,000 square feet of more efficiently used space focused on learning, collaboration and research. The key areas of growth will be in the simulation space increasing from 3,845 square feet to 9,815 square feet and research spaces increasing from 400 square feet to 4,000 square feet. The new building, expected to be completed by spring of 2022, will enhance faculty recruitment and allow for a 50 percent increase in student enrollment.
Nursing Dean’s Fund for Excellence
The unrestricted nature of the Dean’s Fund for Excellence allows the Sinclair School of Nursing to make unexpected building repairs, replace much needed equipment, enhance existing learning environments and respond to emergency student financial needs.
Nursing Scholarship Fund
This fund supports student scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students each fall semester. Donations from alumni, friends and the community supports the efforts of these dedicated students entering a high-need field like nursing.
Simulation & Technology Fund
This fund supports the
Essig Clinical Simulation Learning Center in maintaining current equipment and keeping up with the newest technology and advances in health care.
Faculty & Research Support
Your donations also impact our faculty and their research, which is renowned for its excellence and breakthrough advances in the field of nursing medicine.
Verna Adwell Rhodes Professorship in Nursing
This professorship will help the SSON attract and retain high-performing faculty for generations to come by providing funds for salary support for professorship, graduate assistant support, state-of-the-art technology and additional resources to support teaching and research. Strengthening the faculty will start a domino effect, attracting excellent students, generating additional research funding and serving as a talent magnet for future hire.
Faculty Scholar Fund
This fund provides special recognition for outstanding performance by a select faculty member. In the current economy, enhanced salary for outstanding faculty is not possible, so this modest reward helps retain and attract faculty to the MU Sinclair School of Nursing.
Innovation Fund for Teaching & Research
This fund provides education and training for faculty in teaching and research. Funds for teaching technologies support faculty and classroom teaching development that prepares students and faculty to impact health care in Missouri and beyond. As the school’s online programs continue to grow, this fund helps faculty obtain the knowledge and skills for distance modalities such as e-learning. Faculty research support includes bringing lecturers and programs to the school to present research methods and the latest findings shaping the nursing discipline today. Monies from this fund are also used as a “startup” grant funding for new faculty and as a bridge funding for faculty between grants.
