Jamie Morton receives research grant from the Midwest Nursing Research Society

June 14, 2021 Original story by Show Me Mizzou Accolades Here Jamie Morton, a University of Missouri Sinclair School of Nursing PhD student and health behavior science pre-doctoral fellow, recently received the 2021 Joseph & Jean Buckwalter Research Grant from the Midwest Nursing Research Society. The grant will support her dissertation research project entitled “Exploring Perinatal Prescription Opioid Use and Misuse in Rural Settings.” The purpose of this grant is to support the research development of budding scholars in the Midwest region, especially those with interests in cancer and depression.

  This cross-sectional study of the four universities in the University of Missouri system will compare perceived differences in research climate across institutions and subunits within institutions.  The survey, the Survey of Organizational Research Climate (SOuRCe), is a validated tool designed to assess the organizational climate for research integrity in academic institutions.  This study is funded by theDepartment of Health and Human Services Office of Research Integrity. The population to be surveyed from each university includes all graduate students, tenured/tenure-track faculty, post- doctoral fellows, and all research personnel. PhD Student Inducted into the American Academy of Nursing

Sharon Ann Van Wicklin, MS(N), RN, CNOR, CRNFA(E), CPSN-R, PLNC, was inducted as a fellow into the prestigious American Academy of Nursing at the American Academy of Nursing fall meeting October 5-7 in Washington, D.C. Sharon is currently pursuing a PhD in Nursing from the Sinclair School of Nursing and is mentored by Vicki Conn, PhD, RN, FAAN, Associate Dean of Research and Professor of Nursing. Local PhD Program Graduate Accepts Position in Utah

Aug. 11, 2015 Dr. Jennifer Hulett, a May 2015 PhD graduate of the MU Sinclair School of Nursing, has accepted a post-doctoral fellowship from the University of Utah, College of Nursing. Dr. Hulett will be supported by an NIH funded Institutional Training Grant (T32) awarded to the University of Utah College of Nursing entitled “Interdisciplinary Training in Cancer, Aging, and End-of-Life Care.” Jennifer was one of 190 total students who graduated May 2015. There were 53 traditional BSN, 47 accelerated, 38 RN-BSN, 28 MS and 23 DNP. Dr. Hulett was the only graduate from the PhD program. Congratulations to Jennifer…
