For registered nurses seeking a bachelor of science in nursing, MU offers an RN to BSN option. A graduate of an associate-degree or diploma program and licensed or eligible for licensure in the United States may apply to the RN to BSN Option. Courses focus on critical thinking, evidence based practice and management of patients in an ever changing health care environment. This option is offered online with limited scheduled MU on-campus day requirements.
The RN to BSN option is 26 credit hours. The length of the program varies, depending on equivalent prerequisite courses and credit transferred from associate degree program. Completion of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing is a total of 120 credit hours.
RN to BSN Registration
RN students must be admitted to the University of Missouri and have the approval of the RN to BSN Academic Advisor to enroll in RN to BSN courses. Students may register for the required nursing courses though MyZou.
Contact academic advisor for assistance with registration.
Early registration begins in October and March and specific dates can be found on the University Registrar website.
- Use the schedule of courses or the course listings in MyZou to plan your schedule.
- Only new MU students, students on probation and students with holds in their MyZou Student Center screens need an adviser’s release. All other students may register on the computer through MyZou.
- Registration may be accomplished at the appointment time listed on the student’s myZou screen or any time thereafter until the end of the pre-registration period.
- If a course is full, inquire about permission into the closed course by contacting the course department or the instructor. The School of Nursing only has permission access for nursing courses.
