Bio & Professional Experience

I joined the Sinclair School of Nursing in August 2019 after completing my DNP here. My research focused on a youth health coaching program in the bateyes of the Dominican Republic. I graduated with a Health Science degree from Truman State University and became a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES). I then completed and accelerated BSN and started my career in nursing. As a Registered Nurse I worked at Women’s and Children’s Hospital caring for pediatric patients for many years. After graduating with my MSN, I became a Family Nurse Practitioner. I worked at the MU Student Health Center for 4.5 years before transitioning to academia.

I am married to Brandon Butcher who works for the MU Novak Leadership Institute in the school of Journalism. Together we have one child, Reed. My family and I love spending time together traveling, running, hiking, and gardening.
