Following a fulfilling career as a professional ballerina, Dr. Davis completed a Bachelor of Science-Nursing (BSN) in 2013. Years following graduation, Dr. Davis noted a yearning within herself to expand her medical knowledge and further understand the intricate details of the body and various disease processes. This prompted a return to graduate school. Dr. Davis completed a Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) at MIZZOU with concentration areas of Pediatric Clinical Nurse Specialist and Pediatric Primary Care. She graduated in 2019. While in graduate school, Sr. Davis was employed as a transport (flight) nurse and PICU nurse with two academic pediatric hospitals. Subsequently, she completed a post-doctoral certificate in the concentration area of Pediatric Acute Care, graduating in 2020. Due to that ongoing desire to know more as a Cardiac Intensive Nurse Practitioner, she continues to pursue research and quality improvement applications in the area of cardiac critical care. Dr. Davis’ passion in nursing science has caused her to realize the power that comes with deep, systematic understanding of the human experience, prompting research and application with indigenous peoples of multiple nations. She continues to foster a spirit of learning within her clinical practice and among her students as an experienced faculty member.
