Fifth-Semester Brunch

Those nursing students entering the clinical portion of their college education are honored with a brunch and an attache case filled with items donated by local health-care entities. The cases are donated by the Nursing Alumni Organization.

Michael and Barbie Nolte

Burned But Not Broken author and his wife

In 2003, Michael Nolte was pulled over by a state trooper. In the patrol car, they didn't know a truck was bearing down on them. The car exploded and was engulfed in fire in 1.8 seconds with temperatures reaching 2,500 degrees in three seconds. The trooper burned to death. Nolte was rescued. He suffered 3rd and 4th degree burns over 40 percent of his body and spent more than two months in a burn unit. Come hear their story during Student Nurses Week.
