Mentoring Programs

Mentoring programs have been established at the MU Sinclair School of Nursing to help students at various levels get acquainted with students and/or faculty. Pre-Clinical Students can seek to be paired with Clinical Nursing Majors by contacting the Nursing School Steering Committee (NSSC). Clinical students will be automatically paired with upper level clinical students by the school. Freshmen in the Nursing Residence Learning Community can ask to be paired with faculty once the school year has begun.

Nursing Residence

The Nursing Residence is an innovative living-learning residence hall for nursing majors and current clinical nursing majors. Those students who qualify for the Nursing Scholars Program are especially encouraged to apply. Nursing faculty work with residents to help them find productive roles. The residence is in Graham Hall, a co-educational hall only 200 yards away from the School of Nursing building. The air-conditioned Graham Hall, in the Pershing Group of residence halls, is open during all breaks during the nine-month academic year. It is accessible to persons with disabilities. A computer lab, study hall, seminar rooms, convenience store and other amenities are available in nearby Pershing Hall. A housing application from the Residential Life Office is required. If you have not received this application, please write the Residential Life Office, 125 Jesse Hall, University of Missouri, Columbia, MO 65211, or call (573) 882-7575 or 1-800-225-6075.
