Accelerated nursing student S08

Previous degrees: MS in Health Informatics from MU; BS in Medicine, China

Thoughts about future health-care concerns: Right now there are too many different health-care systems being used throughout the country for them to communicate efficiently. There needs to be a standardized system throughout America to give patients the best possible continuous care.

Passion: I'm passionate about patient-care quality and how technology fits into that equation.

Work: I work at the University Hospital Pharmacy 15 hours per week for the past year. Before that I worked at the Health Sciences Library for a year and a half. I'm working as many hours as I'm allowed because international students pay twice as much as in-state students. I have agreed to work for University Hospital for three years in exchange for fees being paid.

Hobbies: I read my text books, slowly, constantly checking the on-line dictionary (LOL). I also belong to a bible study group, window shop and watch a little TV to help with my English. I love watching Scrubs and Still Standing.

Other information: I don't know how to drive. In China there are too many people for everyone to drive. However, since people are making more money more people have cars and it is creating a lot of traffic congestion. I haven't seen my family in three years, but I can't leave until I've accomplished all my educational goals.
