Previous degrees: MBA from Columbia College; BS Industrial Engineering, Indonesia

Differences between my home country and America : Obtaining the highest degree possible is very important where I grew up. Most parents push their children to go to college to increase the possibilities for a better life.

PHOTO: Dasril's brother, Dasril's Thoughts on a career in nursing: In Indonesia, nursing was seen a woman's profession, much like it is here. However, there it would have been frowned upon for a man to choose nursing as a career. I find this line of work very fulfilling and I look forward to getting up and going to class. I am really looking forward to working at University Hospital 's CICU after graduation.

Other information: I have an American family. While living in the United States, my sister cleaned the house of an older couple here in Columbia . After being introduced, I started taken care of them. Although the husband passed away several years ago, I still live with and take care of his wife. She is my second mother.
