for MU Nursing Award

COLUMBIA , Mo. Kara Bonnell, of Ste. Genevieve, Mo., was recently nominated for the 2008 Nursing Alumni Organization's 6th -Semester Nursing Award for Overall Excellence from the Sinclair School of Nursing at the University of Missouri. The award recognizes potential for clinical proficiency, academic excellence and professional commitment.

Bonnell, a 2005 graduate of Ste. Genevieve High School, is the daughter of Robert and Ann Bonnell.

“Nursing is such a rewarding profession. It is a gratifying feeling when one can look back and realize how they have made a difference and brought joy to someone else's life,” said Bonnell. “By becoming a nurse I know I will continue making this difference in the lives of those around me everyday.”

MU is the largest and oldest campus of the state's major public research institutions. MU's primary mission in research and graduate education provides enhanced opportunities and challenges in the undergraduate areas of humanities, arts and sciences, and selected professional fields. The University provides a basis for service to the people of the state through outreach programs.
