for MU Nursing Award

COLUMBIA , Mo. Jesse Darling, of Potosi, Mo., was recently nominated for the 2008 Nursing Alumni Organization's 6th -Semester Nursing Award for Overall Excellence from the Sinclair School of Nursing at the University of Missouri. The award recognizes potential for clinical proficiency, academic excellence and professional commitment.

Darling, a 2005 graduate of Potosi High School, is the son of Ed and Danette Darling.

“I chose nursing as a way to help others and do it in a scientific, evidence-based practice way,” said Darling. “The profession will continue to change as new innovations are developed to increase the effectiveness of patient care; and I will be there, with my patients, to use them.”

MU is the largest and oldest campus of the state's major public research institutions. MU's primary mission in research and graduate education provides enhanced opportunities and challenges in the undergraduate areas of humanities, arts and sciences, and selected professional fields. The University provides a basis for service to the people of the state through outreach programs.
