COLUMBIA, Mo. – TigerPlace will host a Builder’s Party on Sunday, March 21 from 1 until 5 p.m. at its site located at 2910 Bluff Creek Drive in Columbia. The active retirement community being developed by Americare in affiliation with the Sinclair School of Nursing University at the Missouri-Columbia is scheduled to open in May of this year. The event will give attendees an opportunity to tour the nearly-completed building as well as see three different model apartments. Refreshments will be served.

“Seeing is believing,” states TigerPlace Executive Director Charles Servey. “We know that many of our prospective residents need the opportunity to see their new home first-hand. Response to our new model of senior living has been tremendous. By hosting this event, in advance of our opening in May, we hope to give people the confidence they need to make TigerPlace their new home.”

The first phase of TigerPlace consists of 33 units ranging from alcove studios to two-bedroom apartments. Each unit is complete with kitchenette, washer/dryer, and screened-in porch or deck. Attached garages are also available. Common areas include a restaurant-style dining room, health and wellness center and in-house salon/spa.

As one of four “aging-in-place” pilot sites around the state, TigerPlace residents will be able to access the care they need, when they need it, where they want it, in their own apartment through Senior Care. This new model of care is intended to minimize the need for residents to move from one care setting to another as their needs change. For more information contact TigerPlace at (573) 256-4620.
