We are gathering nominations for President-Elect, Secretary , Counselor, and for the Governance and Leadership Succession Committees (see the position descriptions below) for the Spring 2008 election. You may volunteer or nominate a member that you know, so we can contact them to ask. Time commitment is approximately once a month and the benefits of getting involved are worth the effort. These positions are two-year terms with the exception of President-Elect/President who serves for 3 years total. Here are the job descriptions below:

  • President-Elect: The President-elect is responsible for learning about the operation of the chapter and preparing to succeed the current president. The President-elect facilitates the achievement of chapter goals and helping to complete the submission of the Chapter Key Award application. The President-elect will serve for one year and will succeed to the Presidency for the 2 years following.
  • Secretary: The Secretary prepares and distributes agendas, meeting minutes and correspondence, submits a report at each board of directors meeting and to members at the annual business meeting, and assists in the preparation of the Chapter Annual Report.
  • Counselor: The Counselor must be a faculty member at Sinclair School of Nursing. The Counselor serves as chairperson of the Governance Committee, The Counselor coordinates the invitation of qualified students to join and arranges the induction process for students with STT International.
  • Governance Committee: The Governance Committee consists of at least three elected members and the elected faculty counselor(s). The committee oversees bylaws compliance, makes recommendations for bylaws changes, and oversees member eligibility issues. One position is available for the next election.
  • Leadership Succession Committee: The Leadership Succession Committee consists of at least three elected members. The committee develops members in organizational leadership roles across the span of their careers, mentors members to assume organizational board and officer positions, selects nominees, and prepares and sends the ballot to the board of directors four weeks prior to a scheduled election. Two positions are available for the next election.
