Call for Research Grant Applications

Funds are awarded each year to provide support for a worthy research study or studies conducted by a nurse(s). Allocation of funds is based upon the applicant's eligibility, the quality of the proposed research, the proposed budget, and the rationale given for the need. Preference is given to Alpha Iota members if other attributes are equal. The Research Committee evaluates applications by blind review. A recipient who fails to complete the proposed study will be expected to return the amount awarded. The 2007-2008 amount available: two $2,500 awards.

A. Eligibility

The applicant must:

    1. Be a registered nurse who has a baccalaureate or higher degree in nursing.
    2. Be either the principal or co-investigator of the proposed study.
    3. Be ready to start the data collection for the project.
    4. Include evidence of pending or full IRB approval in the proposal.
    5. Prepare the application as identified in the Proposal Guidelines. Applications prepared in other formats will be returned to the applicant without review.
