Nurses' Notes


The Nursing Alumni Organization proudly presents historic “Nurse’s Notes.” The perfect gift for a nurse at graduation, a seasoned professional on a birthday or at Christmas, your own personal correspondence or for a framed collage for your office or home.Nurse’s Notes feature 10 different historic photos from the MU Sinclair School of Nursing’s archives depicting
students throughout the last 100 years.

Nurse’s Notes are $10 per package or three packages for $25 plus shipping and handling.

PHOTO: LTC Army Nurse Linda Groetken in 1979 or 1980. Over the years, uniforms and technology have changed drastically. Pant 

suits were accepted in the early 1970s and school patches were added to sleeves

of each uniform. Glass IV bottles were replaced with plastic bags and

 medication administration became more automated.

PHOTO: Class of 1963 capping ceremony. “Capping happened in the fall of each class’

 sophomore year and included the recitation of the Nightingale Pledge,”

 said Patricia Kenyon, BSN ’64 MS(N). “We were awed by the commitment

clinicals and classes to create their own fountain photograph at Tiger Plaza, 

MU’s newest landmark. The bronze Bengal Tiger stands atop a waterfall 

at the south end of the South Quad, now known as the Mel Carnahan Quadrangle.
