Financial Assistance

 

I . PROFESSIONAL NURSE TRAINEESHIP
Amount of Assistance
The traineeship pay educational fees and a stipend. Criteria.Must be a full-time student for at least nine months, a U.S. citizen, and cannot work full-time.

Application/Award Schedule
Applications are accepted for the academic year. Summer support may be available depending upon funding. Second year support may be available with satisfactory progress and funding.

II . GRADUATE TEACHING (GTA) AND RESEARCH (GRA) ASSISTANTSHIPS
Amount of Assistance

Graduate Assistants appointed for at least 10 hours per week (.25 FTE) for the academic year will receive a full tuition fee remission. Graduate assistants are paid on an hourly basis.

Criteria
Preference will be given to full-time nursing graduate students who maintain satisfactory progress in their course of study.

Application/Award Schedule
Application may be made at any time. Research assistantships are awarded as faculty research grants are funded. Usually seven to twelve appointments are made annually.

III. SCHOLARSHIPS
Scholarships are awarded to enrolled students annually in the spring. Scholarships listing. Student Handbook.

IV. FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
Financial assistance is available to graduate students in nursing through a variety of other sources, including: Veteran's Administration, American Cancer Society, American Lung Association, ANA and ARMY Reserves. Information about this assistance is available from the graduate advisor.
