Learning Environment
The MU School of Nursing fosters a rich, exciting learning environment for doctoral students. The faculty’s research funding has grown exponentially. Faculty are spearheading funded research projects in: gerontology, woman’s health, oncology, cardiovascular health, family health and behavior change. By participating in faculty projects from the grant-writing stage to publication, students learn to plan and conduct various types of studies, while working with interdisciplinary research teams. The PhD Program offers a seminar series on topics important to the professional development of nurse-researchers. The School supports students’ attendance at the annual meetings of the Midwest Nursing Research Society.
