Research Description: Adherence in Adult and Aging Dialysis and Renal Transplant Recipients.

Cynthia Russell is an associate professor at the MU Sinclair School of Nursing. She completed her PhD at Saint Louis University in 2000. Her program of research is focused on adherence to treatment of adult and aging renal transplant recipients and dialysis patients. She currently is conducting an NIH funded study to examine patterns of medication nonadherence in adult renal transplant recipients, varying lengths of time since transplant, and the extent to which medication nonadherence is associated with the patient outcomes of creatinine, infection, acute and chronic rejection, graft loss and death.
